New Hay Barn Location
|
Duck Boxes |
 |
 |
| Site of new hay barn shown above. Worked started on Tuesday,
September 19, 2006 on our new hay barn. When completed the
barn will be 60' x 125'. |
An additional five wood duck nest boxes where placed at
Sweetwater this spring. The boxes are hand constructed of
cypress lumber and have predictor guards to keep predictors
from eating the eggs or hatchlings. Each box is numbered and
a record of how many eggs are hatched from each is recorded
when the boxes are cleaned in the fall. Everyone of our wood
duck boxes where utilized by pairs of wood ducks this spring
with successful hatches in each. |

| Horses at Sweetwater
Plantation |

Crystal was the first horse we purchased. She is a Palomino
registered Tennessee Walker . We found her atop Signal
Mountain in Chattanooga, Tennessee. |
|
 |
| For years we have had a horse barn but no horses at Sweetwater,
this spring we decides to change things and four horses came
to call Sweetwater their home. |
 |
| A friend told us about a 6 year old Thoroughbred gelding
that was in need of a good home. He had been a race horse
in Kentucky and a Hunter Jumper at the fox hunts here in McDuffie
County. We agreed to give "Wall Street Wizard" a
good home. We call him Murphy. |
| |
 |
 |
We decided Crystal was lonely and need some
other horses to hang out with so we found
Smoke and Sumner. Smoke is a chestnut Quarter horse and Sumner
is a Sorrel Tennessee Walker. They both are mares from Tennessee. |
